teacup candle
This is a teacup which I bought in a charity shop and filled with wax to create a candle. It is a nice ornament created from a vintage teacup which was no longer used. By filling it to the level of tea with wax rather than tea it creates an unusual purpose for the cup. Whilst burning, the wax also turns to liquid which is what the cup would typically be filled with. In comparison to my usual artwork, I am turning an object which was useful into something which is still useful but more decorative, therefore changing the purpose of an item.
